Prior experiences: LSD, 4-HO-MET, 2C-B, 2C-B-FLY, MAL, 2C-E, AL-LAD, 2C-EF, DMXE

User: Male, 21 years old, 65 kg

Substance: MAL (Methallylescaline) 42mg oral.

Context: At a local psychedelic rock concert with friends then home with my boyfriend.

The body high was very solar and euphoric, comparable to 2C-B, with euphoria reminiscent of LSD, though slightly less pronounced. There was no uncomfortable vasoconstriction, and it was quite easy on the gut with only minor annoyances toward the end. There was some difficulty urinating. Sexual drive felt normal; the act itself was more intense, and orgasms were longer, similar to 2C-B but less intense than sober. At this dose, it is not ideal for sex—2C-B is preferred. I experienced some leg tremors after an hour and a half of dancing, and during the come-up, there was noticeable disinhibition, akin to consuming 20g of pure ethanol (about two standard drinks). The comedown was smooth, and I was able to sleep 10 hours after the dose.

Slight visual distortions had a very organic feel, with lines appearing wavy and shifting patterns that integrated well into the environment. Asphalt roads seemed patterned as though alive, with a very organic feeling. Closed-eye visuals were typical of other phenethylamines, predominantly in the ideation aspect (mental imagery like dreaming), though still visually apparent. Synesthesia was more pronounced than on 150ug LSD but less than with 30mg 4-HO-MET.

The mental side was not as introspective as LSD or 2C-EF but offered more depth than 2C-B or 4-HO-MET. There was no thought acceleration, making it easier to handle than 4-HO-MET, LSD, or 2C-EF. Music enhancement and the trance state were excellent.

Duration was 8–10 hours total. It was not my first time with MAL, and this experience corroborates my view of it as a gentle and comfortable psychedelic. While not as deep as others, it provided organic visuals and a euphoric body high. I believe it would pair well with LSD, which I plan to try next.
