caring for a stray cat on budget

Post Body

I live in india and there's been a stray cat hanging around my place for a year now, I've been feeding him rice mixed with milk the whole time. I'm starting to worry about his health cuz I'm broke and can't afford proper cat food or a vet.

The nearest animal shelter is far away, but I'm hoping they might offer free neutering if I can bring him there. right now, I'm just worried about the food situation.

How long would 1kg of purepet dry cat food last him? It costs $2.40, which seems manageable but cheaper option like fish is available, which I can find for $1.20 or even less. Could fish be his main source of food?
