Anyone able to identify the species

So I rescued two of these guys, was told they were box turtles but not specific species, also they are at least 3 years old the biggest one (pictured) is ~3 inches, the smaller one is 1 1/2-2 inches. They were both kept together in a 10gal on aquarium gravel with an undertank heating pad and no lights, they have since been upgraded to a 40gal breeder setup to be bioactive with uvb lighting, two basking lights, and lots of edible live plants. They seem much happier and healthier now but it would be nice to know the species so I can adjust the setup to meet any additional needs they may have. Anyway here's a picture of the bigger one:
