So, I am looking to get a pet and I'm debating between three different reptiles and a amphibian as of right now. I'm debating between a Crested gecko, a Leopard gecko, a Musk turtle and a White's Tree frog. I know eventually in my life I would like to have all four, but for right now with my current experience level and available space, I can only get one. I made a spread sheet to compare starting costs for each animal and everything I would need for them. I wanted to run this by you guys to see if there is anything I should add, as this would be the first time I have taken care of anything like these animals. My brother has a leopard gecko so I got that list from him, where as the other animals I got a list from a site called Reptifiles, which seemed credible, but I also know I have no idea what I'm doing so I'd rather make certain that I do everything right. This is the link to the spread sheet, it should have prices (without tax or anything) and links to the items I was looking at.
I also have a question that I thought of as I was making this spread sheet, I am an avid fossil collector and I would love to incorporate some of the stuff I've found into the enclosure, but I want to make sure it's with safe for the animal and the fossils won't cause harm. Are there any preserving agents or coats that would be safe for them that also wouldn't cause the fossil to deteriorate? Right now I have a huge chunk of petrified wood I'd like to add to the enclosure that I think would look great with any of these. Sorry for the long post, and thanks for any help or advice you guys give. If this isn't the right sub for this kind of post, please let me know and I'll take it down.
