My bearded dragon has had a really bad infection on his butt that's not been getting better. We took him to the vet a month ish ago and got a slew of medications for him and it cost $800 and I am still struggling to pay it off. He was doing better for some time, but now it's getting bad again, worse than before. I'm starting to think we may have to put him down soon, and it's really hard. Everything else in his life seems to be doing good, he still eats a lot and loves going after bugs, but I know he has to be in some sort of pain down there. He is still wanting to come out, but it is hard with his infection I'm afraid to get it dirty. I went to apply his medication and he just started kicking me away, which he normally doesn't do when I'm trying to apply it. His skin is starting to peel from the area as well, and it's not looking good. I'm not sure if he is going to shed soon though, but it doesn't look like that. I just don't know what to do anymore, this is killing me. The only thing I am thinking it might be cracking is I have been soaking him every other day to keep him clean, and we have been moving and I haven't had the chance to do it in over a week. I'm sorry if this is a terribly written post, I just got done cleaning him and really needed to get it out. I'm afraid to tell my girlfriend of what I'm thinking as she may not like it, or she may act on it, and both terrify me.
