My cat attacked a baby wild snake

I feel horrible and want to cry, the snake was bleeding a little bit but it didn’t look too bad, he’s able to move.
I applied a topical antibiotic as I read snakes are susceptible to infection from cat bites.
I don’t know what else to do to give him a fighting chance, I can’t go to sleep I feel like crying. I want to catch him insects from my garden for him to snack on if he can’t get them as easily on his own.
