Hello! I live in a suburban apartment complex with 100 units. My mom and I live together, but she is not on Reddit. I was informed today that our unit was randomly selected for a mortgage inspection on the 21st. I’ve always been disapproving of other people coming into my home in general, it’s just a social anxiety thing.
What does this mean? There are a few noticeable scratches on one of the walls in my bedroom, which is the one place that I’m terrified of other people entering at all. My mom will be at work during the inspection, leaving me alone. Will we be penalized and required to pay a fine (that we may not be able to pay due to financial issues that I don’t care to elaborate on)?
We have always paid our rent on time, paid our pet rent for our two dogs, and never had any noise complaints. We are not the cleanest of people, but I’ve seen way worse. There are no insect issues in our unit except for fruit flies in the summer. I’m so incredibly nervous.
