I find the lack of metadata searching available for the Earth Engine Data Catalog really frustrating. I want to search by spatiotemporal resolution, spatiotemporal coverage, product "level", and data source - not just by tag.

Google Earth's announcement of this catalog in 2018 also recommended Google dataset search but I do not find this very usable either. Via that interface I cannot limit to GEE-only datasets.

I am browsing for products to use as classifier inputs to create a 2m product over parts of the Gulf of Mexico Caribbean. Can someone point me to a better catalog or do I need to make a big ol' spreadsheet?

I just found awesome-gee-community-datsets, so that is nice but still not a search. I couldn't find any API endpoints for dataset metadata or else I would write my own little GUI on top of the catalog.
