I have absolutely loved this game from start to finish, even the bosses with their constant minion spam, but this final boss is hands down some of the worst boss design I think I've ever encountered and I just can't be fucking bothered with it any more. I know the mechanics of it, and the best mods to use etc. but despite this I keep dying (playing on hard, solo).
But unlike the other bosses, where I was really enjoying it and wanted to keep trying - this guy is just so infuriating I can't even be bothered trying any more. The first phase is boring as fuck once you know what to do, and the second phase is just so fucking irritating. It's such a frustration because, like I said, I've thought it was amazing up until this point. But I play games to have fun, and the fun has now completely stopped for me :( I know that I'm not alone in feeling this way, and there have been lots of threads about this, but I just wanted to get it off my chest because it's been bugging me!
What are the bosses like in Remnant 2? Are they less based minion-based?
I don't mind that at all, it's why I love the souls games in general. Learning to beat the bosses using the tools you have and your skill is what makes it great. It's literally just this silly gimmicky final boss that was annoying me (I finally beat him).
Not what I wanted to hear 🤣 how is the rest of the game?
Ah thanks for the offer, but I only every play games single player. Don't really enjoy co-op or MP play.
Is veteran the next one up from normal? Or is there one in between? I don't play games like this on normal, I want more challenge than that.
Ah I beat him at last. I was running Hunter's armour, to answer that question. I went with hunting rifle with swarm, and repeater pistol with hotshot (didn't have any of those other weapons you mentioned). The big realisation for me was that I didn't have to kill lots of enemies in the shadow world before exiting, so if my swarm wasn't charged I'd just run straight back out, then put some shots into the boss to get the charge up (even though it was doing him zero harm). Then in the shadow world, using the repeater pistol with swarm to build stacks and get the charge up on hotshot. Then used hotshot to open him up, then hunting rifle when he was exposed and it was sayonara (eventually!). Despite the annoyance of the final boss, it was a fantastic game, absolutely loved it.
Ah glad to hear there are some with no mobs! My loadout was a strong hunting rifle with swarm, and the spitfire uogradd as well.

Ah cool, I hope so. Playing through this definitely makes me want to play the sequel.
