Sheesesh! The Enemy Damage Is crazy

I'm a huge fan of RPG's so im having fun with this game...but man oh man..Why do the enemies hit so hard? Even on Survivor 3 to 4 hits of any kind from most enemies will almost wipe you out ( and my armor rating is pretty high). I wish the enemy damage was a little lower. I'm definitely enjoying the game though...never played the 1st one so i wasnt sure what to expect.
