Hello, all... I'm hoping to find some advice here. I'm in a rather shitty situation, and looking to improve it. I live in South Florida with my SO and two cats (this is relevant). Between the two of us, we have barely been making enough money to scrape by, and are looking to move to Memphis, where the cost of living is lower and our pay grades are roughly equivalent for our respective fields.
Neither of us have a credit card. We don't have much stuff, either, so we had been considering simply renting a minivan from any given car rental agency, but lacking a credit card, that becomes difficult. Most other moving options have been intimidating because we have two cats, so shipping things and busing up is not an option, and shipping things then flying is prohibitively expensive.
Right now, we are looking at renting a UHaul 10-foot truck, the smallest available. This will result in a fair amount of unused space in the truck, while the two of us and cats are rather cramped in the front (two adult humans two medium-sized kennels).
Can anybody see any other options? Our budget is roughly $1300USD (yes, very small)
