I am not a man of faith. I am 23 (Canadian) and an agnostic leaning on atheist. That being said. My dad married into a somewhat strange family.
I now have two step brothers and a step sister who are spiritual in faith, a step mother who was extremely religious and is now figuring out their religion (while smoking pot). And have step family who are extremely religious. This includes grand parents and cousins.
My struggle is to identify with them. I used to in term of nerdy lightsabers and video games. But recently they've been having family gatherings (15 people despite covid) say God will protect them. I am staying away from those gatherings.
I have respect for faith. But not idiocy. I would like to hear what people of faith think. Thank you.
Tl;dr: family is all religious and thinks God will protect them from covid. How do I stay away from them without insulting them and get algon with them?
