I am a polytheistic pagan part of an omnitheist faith that believes all gods have a place in the world and probably exist.
I have friends of all faiths and I have found a really interesting trend. When people of Abrahamic religions are concerned, they love praying for other people, however, when I ask to light a candle for them on my alter to strengthen their connection to Yahweh or Yeshua (The original Mesopotamian name for the Abrahamic God and the Hebrew name of Jesus) most of them become very upset saying that my effort doesn't matter and that it is blasphemous to do so for them.
I find it kind of hypocritical that they are willing to pray to their god for people who don't want to be prayed for, yet are upset when they are asked for consent to have religious practices performed for their spiritual health.
So, people of Abrahamic faiths, why is it that your prayer for people who haven't consented is ok but my even asking if I can light a candle for you is horrible and insulting? Why does my faith and my asking to light a candle for you equate to something so horrible and evil, when all I want to do is help and be kind?
