Hi all. So recently I’ve noticed that my boyfriend of 2 years has bad breath due to not brushing his teeth regularly in the mornings. His excuse over the two years was that he only needs to brush after eating something, and even then that the bad breath usually isn’t detectable because of the food eaten. I’ve cut down on the amount of times we see each other during the week, and am basically not kissing him anymore, even during sex. It’s gotten to the point where I’m actually annoyed when he speaks to me because the smell just isn’t pleasant. I’ve asked him why he doesn’t brush his teeth mornings and he said it just doesn’t make sense to him. I guess I just don’t understand since growing up it was mandatory to clean your face, brush your teeth before talking to anyone at home, and I assumed most people grew up being expected to clean up before the day starts? I feel bad but at the same time I’ve seen him interact with other people while I know he’s not brushed his teeth and smell travels. Speaking to him about this has not worked, any ideas?
Tl;dr: boyfriend doesn’t brush his teeth mornings and the smell is grossing me out
