My boyfriend didn’t wait for me and I can’t tell whose in the wrong. Looking for blunt advice.

My (male 27) boyfriend (male 22) of 6 months is visiting me this week for his spring break. Yesterday he was playing one of my video games and he got to a point where he was trying to beat this particular part. I won’t get into too many details but this was something he had done this before but I haven’t accomplished it. I really wanted to see him do it. I had to leave for maybe 20 minutes and I asked him to wait on me to return as I wanted to watch him.

I return 20 minutes later and he immediately defeats it. It seemed a bit too easy so I ask him later if he did it while I was gone and he said he did. I basically shut down. I didn’t get angry or yell but instead went into a trance. I was so upset. We sat in silence and after a while he basically started to cry and said he was so sorry.

He offered to do something to make it up to me and let me play whatever but I explained that I didn’t really have anything else I wanted. That’s all I wanted to see. All I could say was “why are you so fucking selfish“ in a low volume. I’ve done a lot for him this week and he didn’t even want to wait.

It’s the next day and I’m still upset. I don’t even want to think about playing video games right now. A part of me wants to throw him out or break up but I recognize that’s not rational. I love him but why does he have to be like this? I’m just really upset and don’t know what to do.
