Is there any phrase please I can just to get the significant other to stop talking.

Case in point we were out walking the dog and he didn't like the way I do it and pointing out things I should do instead to " be courteous" ... Is there anything I can say to get them to shut up nicely. I did not want to argue with him in public. I tried phrases like " point taken" but that didn't seem to work. " Agree to disagree"gets them more worked up in trying to convince me.

They keep on trying to convince me to take his point of view on dog walking and being courtesy to people. But I like doing it my way where I allow the dog to guide me where to go.

TLDR - how do I get them to shut up.
