My biggest issue with relationship anarchy is that there does not exist vocabulary words to describe my relationships in the way I want/need them to. I don't use the word boyfriend/girlfriend, I don't use the word partner. Best friend falls flat, lover is TMI, my love is cringe in everyday use. For me personally of course.
So Bfdal. Pronounced bifdall. It's an acronym really, for best friend and deep abiding love. Where the word best does not preclude other bests, just signifying someone who has achieved that highest level of closeness, trust, and safety.
You may like it, you may hate it and I'm very open to other ideas. But for now I'm going to start using this word, knowing I'll have to explain it every time. But I'm tired of not having a word that means what I want it to say.
