why do my boyfriends friends say things about me?
Post Body

(22F) been dating my boyfriend (23M) for 2 years (I’ve known him longer). Ever since we started dating a few of his friends have put things into his head regarding me. For example, saying I’ve had sex with people I haven’t (which I understand could just be rumours). He’s shut them down multiple times but if it isn’t rumours it’s anything along the lines of my past. Anybody I’ve kissed or been intimate with. I guess word travels fast in a small city. I haven’t had many past partners either!

At first I figured they were just trying to look out for him and protect him I can respect that. Maybe they wanted to get to know me better. So I tried to create any sort of friendship with them I even bought another friend in the group a small birthday gift:)! A majority of them barley acknowledge me when I’m around and I have to initiate the conversations. Now that we’re 2 years into our relationship I thought the comments would stop.

Well I was wrong, the other night his friend made another comment about me. I would brush it off however, my boyfriend was actually questioning me about what his friends have said! I’ve been patient but I’m starting to get a little annoyed. I don’t want my boyfriend overthinking. I absolutely adore him. He is my best friend

I need a peak into the male psyche, any ideas why they’re doing this and how I can fix this? Do they think I’m just not up to his standards? At the end of the day I’m dating him, not his friends but any advice helps Thx !!
