Like, compared to the rest of the cast she’s definitely not particularly crazy or impulsive. She stands out, but i feel like the context where her anger issues and assumptions happened were kinda understandable.
It’s insane for me to think that CJ is often labeled as “crazy jealous” when Mordecai cheated with his ex in front of her. And aside from their first failed date where he made her feel as a toy/experiment, my dude was clearly still into Margaret when he was dating CJ.
It’s been a while since I watched those episodes as they felt like a chore sometimes, but as far as I remember, it was very understandable to not fully trust Mordecai after everything he did, Id say her biggest mistake was to forgive him after that kiss.
People often bring up that episode where CJ goes mad and almost kills everyone, but they usually phrase it as “she tried to kill margaret and her parents”, honestly it didn’t seem like she was purposely trying to murder them, it was more like an irrational anger outburst with collateral damage. And while it’s awful and insane, it’s a whole different connotation.
That being said, both Margaret and CJ were horrible matches for mordecai, neither of them had actual chemistry as partners and it definitely made several episodes unbearable. I did like Margaret at the beginning because she was more of a “gag” in the sense that she was more of a concept of an actual character, she was just there to humble mordecai, and considering how uninteresting her actual personality ended up being, I liked her more as an occasional character. Or maybe I just liked the earlier seasons more idk.
