I'm a huge fan of Steel Pulse, saw them last week in Asbury Park NJ.
I just noticed they have a line in the song wild goose chase, "legal murder, they call abortion."
Also, "contraceptive pills, made to kill."
I found an interview where David Hines says "in vitro fertilization is not natural."
I know these guys are super progressive so I'm wondering why they still play this song in concert.
Also, why is nobody questioning these lyrics? I know the album is 38 years old but they play this song every night.
Do they really believe this? Does David Hines still hold those views? They talk about ending poverty, police brutality, action on climate change so I'm confused why they would still play this song.
I think the lyrics are a reflection of Rastafari livity.
