Advice needed.

10 yrs ago I went to vo-tech school for HVAC R. I got a job in the residential hvac field before graduating. I did graduate top of my class, but haven't used any of what I learned in school for 10 years while working for the same job. Now I have quit my residential hvac job and got a job with a refrigeration company.
What are some good pointers to know or apps to install on my phone to help me transition into my new job.
My job is to be a service technician and repairs. Not sales or installations.
