He really needs to figure this out. How are you gonna strike out 10 guys but still give up 5 runs and 9 hits? Like what the actual fuck. I can’t say I’ve been watching him closely enough to have any ideas about what needs work but maybe he needs a mental break? Is he just too emotional and in his head? It’s almost like he needs to turn his brain off and just pitch
Kinda bummed Raffy isn’t going to go to the all star game but hey I get it, he’s not that guy and doesn’t like being that guy. At least he wasn’t snubbed though!
Yea Youk be the voice of reason too. Even before this contract I never thought he was that great a pitcher. He really just seemed like a solid starter that should keep the team in the game.
But he also didn’t have to sign that contract. He very easily could have said nah that’s gonna be too much pressure for me at this time. I don’t dislike the guy, I just know he can be better. He knows it too.
🤓🤓 you must think WAR is the end all be all of stats. You’re the one bringing up names and comparisons. He signed a pretty decently sized contract for a young player. But yea sure, that is totally comparable to one of the largest pitcher contracts ever
Well yea he’s human and young, it’s understandable. I wouldn’t have given him that contract at all. He hasn’t proven himself to be worth it. The potential is there yea, but part of a contract and sticking with an organization is to get the payout later. The current contract is based off your history/stats mostly, and partly on the potential. Maybe that’s just my thinking of running the organization as a business though.
I mean yea you can’t see the future. But that doesn’t change anything about him. There is something that is causing him to be very inconsistent, and they gotta figure it out. If he wasn’t giving up so many runs it would be a different story. But he’s well over 5, if he had closer to a 4.5 for ERA I really wouldn’t have that much of an issue with him.
