I’ve been hesitant to be part of this community and post anything because I’ve been wary of spoilers. Now that I’ve finished Light Bringer I have to say - I loathe every page of Lysander’s chapters. In Iron Gold I gave him a chance. Thought maybe, just maybe, he’s not a Prissy Palatine Pixie. Not some loathsome Lunese lint-licker.
In Dark Age his chapters were abrasive as the sands in the Waste of Ladon. Where I wish Darrow had left his boot a few seconds longer on his head and boiled Lysander’s brain with his eye and left him to join his Praetorians in the dirt. But no, that coward took Alexandar with his pistol.
He preaches of unity and reform! He and Darrow really parallel each other in their views of the future, especially in Light Bringer. I hoped he’d see that. As soon as he asked if he could return to the Lightbringer I suspected he’d pull some antics. Then when Cassius and he talked in his cabin I held out hope. But no. That turncloak preaches of honor but has none. He deserves worse than the death of a thousand kisses.
I hope he’ll get that chair he craves, one he deserves. One his dusty grandma left for him. The Pandemonium Chair where he can relive his crimes and pay for them in perpetual torture.
