Hey guys, so I just wanted to point out an issue I've noticed since the redesign.
I run a number of subreddits which cater to people typically not used to reddit, and since I've started pushing the redesign, I have noticed a number of modmail messages show up where people thought the envelope was making a post or something.
Some of the messages were people literally trying to write their post while others were asking where to do so, how to do so, or even asking us to post it for them because they didn't realize they could post it themselves.
As a result, I feel the envelope icon on its own doesn't deliver the effect it should and either should be fixed to include text next to or replacing it, or there should be a toggle in the subreddit where you can change that in your subreddit if it causes issues.
I get that these sort of modmail can simply be ignored, but it can be a pain for those of us who are the subreddits that cause new users to join reddit, not to mention it reduces the productivity of reddit if this is indeed the case. The two primary goals of the redesign are (hopefully) visual and productivity improvements, so that in mind, this could use some work.
Just figured I'd share this in hopes that it gets some well-needed attention. Thanks!
