Hey guys, and hopefully Reddit, I noticed three minor issues that can make the redesign more appealing - and I'm keeping it short and including images for 1 & 2.

  1. Post text/border color.
  2. Visibility of "message the moderators."
  3. Auto Moderator flair functionality aka Flair CSS.

First issue is that for darker or various colors, the post text might not work well with the post background color:

Second, we see that "message the moderators" has been reduced to an envelope icon:

Now while it's aesthetically pretty, and long-time redditors know what it means, I run a few larger subreddits that draw attention from non-redditors to join, and they like to PM mods directly rather than message the moderators - especially with this change. I feel there should be a change, or at least a setting, to allow for a very visible "message the moderators" feature to persuade them to use modmail rather than direct PM.

Finally, Auto Moderator, the savior of subreddit mods.

It's great, it does a lot of your work, and it flairs users! Well, until the redesign.

While I don't have an example image on hand, it's easy to point out that flairs made through the redesign have CSS that seem auto-generated and are incompatible with Auto Moderator's ability to auto-flair them.

In short, post and user flair cannot be easily assigned without it not working with the redesign. Just the same, the redesign's flairs cannot be automatically added to users or posts as far as I'm aware.

I made this for constructive criticism, not to be critical of the redesign, but rather to empower its refinement.

If any Reddit admins are reading this, I sincerely hope it helps! :)

P.S.

I tried initially uploading the images only to be told "all Media assets must be owned by the submitter of this post" to which I feel Reddit is adding a new system in place which does not properly differentiate images.

I took these images with Snipping Tool from my subreddit but then had to upload them to imgur to make them link properly. Please fix this?
