Originally this was meant to just be for pointing to comments elsewhere on reddit that contain stories, the point being that they are a response to a discussion or content that has been posted. Over time this has eroded to people just posting short stories as a text submission and, more recently, links to stories posted elsewhere on the internet.

Now, I don't know what people want to see here so I'm running a quick poll in the comments. Please upvote the relevant comment. Don't bother downvoting as I will be counting upvotes only.

I am personally of the opinion that it'd be nice to go back to only having links to comments in other threads, but if other people really want the other stuff then I'd be okay with that.

EDIT: While I'm here, would anyone else like to be a mod? It's hardly a big job, just removing posts that don't meet the guidelines and posting new submissions now and then. I tend to find that if I don't post anything for a while, the overall posting rate goes down, so it'd be nice to have someone else driving that a little.
