This community was banned for being unmoderated, so I am unable to message the moderators.

I would like to moderate this community because it provides a great place for people who live in St. Louis, Missouri to meet each other. I used to be an active member of Stlr4r before it was banned. I watched it go downhill. The moderator switched from text posts only to allowing image posts, which attracted spammers. The community is intended to meet people in a local area and make personal connections, but once images were allowed, the community was flooded with porn. The community quality diminished and off-topic post frequency went through the roof. I suspect that the previous moderator stopped being active because, with their current moderation methods, they were unable to keep up with the amount of off-topic and rule breaking posts.

I am a moderator of two NSFW meetup subreddits, one of which has been growing steadily and neither of which have had any issues with spam. I have utilized the various moderator tools such as automod, post requirements, regex, and just recently the new automation and post guidance tools to make my job as a moderator quite easy. I am able to keep an NSFW community under control while offloading much of the workload onto the technology provided by Reddit. I have also learned that having multiple mods is important because it spits the amount of work each mod must do and it protects the subreddit in the event that one mod is temporarily inactive.

If my request is approved, I will first make it so that only text posts are allowed. This will dissuade the porn spammers. Then, I will implement strict title guidelines to keep spam and off-topic posts at bay, while using post guidance to reduce end user frustration. I will also enforce time-based posting limits. Based on my experience as a moderator, title guideline enforcement and time-based post limiting work wonders to eliminate spam and keep the moderation workload at a reasonable level. I will remove what I can of old rule violating posts to try and clean up the community and provide a good example for new posters. Once it is a bit more under control, I will invite members to apply to become moderators and I will bring some select users who seem up to the task on to the moderation team to help out.
