Dear Reddit Admin Team,

I’m reaching out to express my interest in taking over as moderator of the /r/londonr4r community, which is currently banned due to inactivity and moderation issues. As someone who has been a member of Reddit for years and frequently contributes across several subreddits, I believe I can step in to rejuvenate the community with a proactive approach.

Although I lack formal moderation experience, my passion for Reddit and the London community is strong. I’ve also consulted with experienced NSFW moderators of larger UK dating subreddits to understand the necessary steps to ensure that the sub adheres to all of Reddit’s rules and remains a safe space for users. I am active in assisting moderators on other subs and have reported items to them where required. I have also moderated other spaces including Facebook groups and a couple of tech forums with no issues.

If given the opportunity, I plan to implement the following measures:

• Community Guidelines: Establishing a robust set of rules, rooted in Reddit’s content policies, including provisions to prevent scams, trolling, and harmful behaviour. This would include karma requirements, account age requirements, title rules, age limits, and ensuring it is only related to London UK. This would be set up immediately and would be strict initially and over time we would move it more in line with other regionally based subs. We would also initially ban all image posts and would only allow them via approval or for verified or posters that have engaged actively in a positive way in the community.
• Active Moderation: Engaging daily with the subreddit to monitor posts and comments, removing any that are inappropriate, and responding to concerns raised by community members. Initially we will need to be firm but over time we will review this but again ensure any changes maintain a healthy and positive community in one of the most vibrant cities for social events in the world.
• Transparency: Maintaining open lines of communication with users to ensure transparency about moderation decisions. We will aim to engage with sub users via meta posts and will also look to set a cadence for review of the sub and moderation style, however we won’t make changes that makes the sub any less safe.
• Automoderation Tools: Utilising Reddit’s automod features to catch and filter harmful content before it becomes visible. I am aware of how to program this and as the Mod on the sub I would make sure that prior to allowing outside posting back on the sub it would be set up and we would test this amongst moderators.
• Mod Team Recruitment: As the community grows, I will expand the moderation team to ensure there’s always someone actively monitoring the subreddit. Currently there is already interest from one user and they will assist initially and hopefully we will both go on to moderate the sub over the long term and bring in additional members. At a minimum we commit to making sure the sub always have 5 moderators and will also aim to have Timezone coverage to ensure that posts can be managed at all times. If this requires additional mods we will make sure this is seen too. The aim would also be to have an experienced moderator or two from other active NSFW subs that are UK specific to assist and if they have capacity hopefully they would also stay on long terms. We would aim to maintain diversity to ensure a healthy range of views with the only caveat being that they are London UK based.
• Reddit resources: I am also aware of /r/modsupport and /r/modhelp along with the mod help centre. I will ensure we all utilise these to ensure the environment we foster is positive for redditors to enjoy.

Having a strong well moderated, positive and active dating sub for London is important as it is a global city.

My primary goal is to bring back this subreddit in a way that promotes healthy discussions, interactions, while keeping the space free from malicious actors. Looking forward to your consideration
