Hey, islanders. I feel like we are not being as efficient as we could in some ways. Much of the talk thus far has been location selection and financial concerns, which is definitely something we need, but there are some interested redditors (like myself) who have no knowledge or expertise in these fields. Personally. I am an engineer who works with green building consulting and design and would love to help out/design/talk to interested people about these issues as well as renewable energy possibilities.

However, I have no idea how to contact people or catch the attention of people who would want to discuss these issues.

If there is something already created please let me know, but I haven't seen anything yet that is a list of interested redditors and where their experience,expertise, or simply interests lie. Can we create a list or something where each member can add info about themselves or add themselves to a specific topic/group? I feel likes this way one group can figure out the financial stuff while another works on fresh water while another works on getting materials, etc etc.

Let me know if this sounds bogus or if someone has an idea of how to start this.

• Infrastructure (water/electricity/sewage concerns/renewables/etc)
• Building Design
• Transportation (inner island and to/from island)
• Materials
• Agriculture/Farming/Permaculture

EDIT: Ok this is great. People are starting to post their skills and interests. Feel free to continue to do so or start another subreddit with prefix RI to start specific discussions on the topic.

moe_reddit is working on a document focusing on skill sets. We'll have a better idea of our breadth of knowledge as a whole.
