1st topic: Donation for voting rights We propose that we would start collecting donations after the mission statement voting is finalized and there is precise and clear membership requirements with people showing interest in the project and willing to donate money to it, so we will have much bigger cohesion in the community and a concrete structure, ready to deal with problems.

One proposal To deal with the possible publicity and legal issues, one proposal is following: The creators of this community would step up and deal with the legal requirements.

Matude is my brother, his name is Peedu Tuisk. I am Siim Tuisk, aka luuletaja, check the facebook, small photo album is public and also in orkut and etc. Matude is designer, www.matude.com, albeit unfinished gives some ideas about his previous work experience. We would be willing to take the full public inquiry and willing to foot the bill for the corp(750 $ or llc 275$) or what legal system shall be decided upon, give full info disclosure and id and background checks. We would set up the system for email and Reddit account verification for following members and then if you still trust us you could donate to Matude's paypal and be part of it. Now, I understand that the fact that we are from Eastern/Northern Europe, Estonians and brothers will ring many bells but you would not be risking with anything before its set up, and after that you have the full idea, what you would be supporting, if at all. Also, the extarnal and internal systems can be different, ie, we may look to the outside as a corp, but are inside more like co-op, with majority voting and trying to achieve consensus and etc This is an idea, a proposal, to be discussed and voted on.

THE second way would be a full information disclosal and appointing a trusted treasurer, whoever the community chooses and trusts who would collect the donations and deal with the legal organization creation. There can be more ways but these were the ones discussed.

2nd topic: How secluded has the island be for you

Basically the overall feeling was that if the island and the land bought would be big enough, 100 acres, then on some conditions we could share it but of course the original, whole island for ourselves is still in play. This idea was just reaced as a final barrier, that a lot on mainland with beachfront would already lose many members of this community.

3rd topic: Should everyone put in similar (1k) amount or what privileges will you accept that are for sale in exchange for bigger amount (specific time, private shack, etc)

It was found preferable if there would be different accomodation options (tent, 2 person 4 person etc ) and they would be increased with time. There were proposals that the members could benefit from unused shacks, and share the profit with the organization or get advance on future sevices. Also, if we have big enough island there could be more secluded areas for people wishing to pay more for privacy. Private deed to the land on the other hand is strongly discuoraged.

The construction budget at the moment looks following:

• Water/sewage is 40k for stuff 10k extra for transport and digging link to discussion log
• The main house is around 50k and the first nipa huts are included in that.
• Electricity, depends on the island, but roughly 40k for big wind (7.5 - 10 kW) with diesel generators for backup and about the same or a bit less for solar. If we could have hydro, then it would be gorgeous and cheap but that depends on the island, and we would have to share the island with others, as on small private islands are no rivers that would be sufficient.
• Boat permits and "bribes" and etc, 50k 200k all together for these but with an extra 20% for costs not projected yet would look around 250k This, plus the island cost and first year expenses would mean something to the ball park of 600k-750k of money needed in the first 18 months.
  

4th topic. Formation of research sub-committees. We are gathering names now, and have received many professionals offering help. We would like to encourage many of you that you would also help and submit your ideas or opinions or relevant information to the topics.

An interesting mail

Hi, I really like the idea of getting the island, but i've been mostly passive, because i couldnt think of any way to help. Today I saw an announcement on czech internet tv (which also collaborates with one commercial non-internet tv) about a chance to win 1 000 000 CZK. The rules are simple: who makes the video which will reach the 1M viewcount wins the 1 000 000 CZK. It's pretty hard to reach that view count within czech republic considering the 10M population... Theres a link to the video announcing the competition. It's not a scam, as it may seem to someone, the yong guy(Kazma) is one of the best known celebrities at stream.cz and the older guy is CEO of stream.cz. I dont want any money in case you win, i just want to help the community to make your dream come true.

This seems like a nice challenge. Amount in U.S. dollars = 48,375$ , we could do the video ourselves and/or let a Czech redditor volunteer, with english subtitles. The discussion happens at the PR submission where you can post your designs for everything related to the island project.

There are going to be Euro meetings at 10pm BST (GMT 1) with the American redditors joining in later at 9pm EST (GMT-5).
