I'm a novice/intermediate C# programmer and I'm trying to learn more about API's. I'd love to build a Reddit bot, but I keep getting stuck. I have a feeling C# is not the best language to code a bot in. I can't find any step by step tutorials.
I have found more then enough general information about REST and about Reddit's API documentation, but when I try to code it I don't even know where to begin. Where do I enter my token, secret, username and password? How do I pass those to the API? where will I receive my OAuth? I feel like there are simultaneously too many roads for me to take, as well as dead ends.
TL;DR: I'm stuck, can anyone point me in the right direction? I prefer a C# step by step tutorial for a Reddit bot, but other API's are fine too as long as the tutorial is very detailed and teaches me a lot. Other languages are also an option, I have some knowledge of Java and Javascript, but I really don't want to learn an entire new language like Python.
