Does anyone else know about this credit card theft technique?
Post Body

Ran into it awhile ago at the last retail store I worked at. We had people who would reprogram the back of their credit cards to be the numbers of their victims. When we checked the card and id they matched, but then when we swiped it would charge a totally different account.

We got around it by requiring a manual insertion of the last four digits of the card number... but I never see any other business doing this.
