All this F5ing has got united all on my brain.
For me I was a huge fan of Evans. I know he was never a world beater but I thought he had a lot to his game and I feel he was very underrated by our own fans. Very capable of a mistake every now and then and he was here at a time when we had arguably the best two centre halves in the world with Ferdinand and Vidic.
He was big and strong, could bring the ball forward, was very two footed and could ping balls with either foot and had a nasty streak in him I quite like as a centre half.
Also the 12/13 season where Ferdinand and Vidic spent long periods injured he filled in fantastically. I know RVP was quality but Evans was our unsung hero. Think he finished the season on something like 2.93 points per game in the prem with 18 starts from memory.
In terms of underrated by other fans and the media Anderson comes to mind, as does Park and Fletcher before he fell ill. Players who were class and still underrated for me include Scholes and Carrick. They both provided such good tempo and it was no coincidence we would score late with these two running them ragged all game. Something I see in Pogba albeit in a slightly different way.
