Help with the Aberdeen pig farm.

So I went there, had drinks and ended up in the pit. So I go back there and shoot both of them and the option to search the house comes up.
Now me being a perfectionist, wanted to do that again. But when I reloaded the safe, they were not there to attack me on site when i came back. Neither was the option to search the house and worst of all, my $1,699 was gone for good.
help please?
