Taking bounties alive?

I recently completed the game and noticed something about one of the last bounty hunting missions. You have the option of bringing the bounty in dead or alive, and I brought him alive. Soon after, I encountered an event walking through town where I watched his hanging. Are there events like this every time you bring a bounty in alive and I’ve just been missing them? It was so rewarding in a morbid way lol
