The Epilogue sucks.

1). First off, John is no Arthur. He’s a good character. After RDR came out, he was my favorite video game character for a while. But Arthur is the best written character I’ve seen in a game, and better than most movies.

2). Most of the missions are yawn. Milk a cow, build a fence, clean stables. How exciting. I’ve always wanted a game that simulates me being a farmer. You even get to build your own house …

3). Which brings me to that fucking house building song.

4). Not just the missions, but all the writing is subpar. Abigail was never one of my favorites, but in the epilogue, she’s just a two-dimensional caricature of a nagging, shrewish, bitchy wife. ‘I don’t care if those men attacked you first! Whatever happens is your fault!!” Personally, I think he should have taken Geddes’s advice and jumped on a ship. Or at least let Ross keep them.

5). The maps suck too. So much for open world. With all the cliffs and canyons, I feel like I’m playing a Bio-ware game.

6). And the towns suck ass, too. Tumbleweed and Armadillo make Van Horn look like San Denis.
