Did you keep pushing up the mountain? Or did you turn around and go back?

I've chosen both but the reason I turned back, it's not for what you might think.

I figured if Arthur was able to go back for the money, he might have been able to get it to somebody. Maybe all those deaths and all the pain wouldn't have been in vain. At the time I figured Arthur would only slow John down and he really didn't need me to escape. He technically does slow down John in his final moments Atop The Mountain before Micah shows up and John even gets away, regardless. Obviously, it's incredibly unlikely that even if Arthur was to beat Micah, that he would have been able to get it to anybody. Too much law.. too little strength.

That was a low honor playthrough. My Arthur never learned his lesson in that playthrough and he met a bitter end from a cold blade driven into him by a rat..

In my last, high honor playthrough, I chose to continue with john. My Arthur thoroughly learned his lesson this time and I even brought him from the lowest amount of honor to highest amount of Honor to try and role play his growth. But I truly don't know which option is the "correct" option.. which is obviously the point.

Both seem honorable to me if you think about going back for the money in the selfless way I described rather than one of greed like Micah. Going back also seems like the "correct" decision if you feel as if Arthur is going to seek justice for the gang.. but what does everyone else think? Is one option objectively the correct option? Is one option objectively high honor and one objectively low honor?
