An Idea On Where/When RDR3 Could Take Place.

Post Body

Many in the RDR community have debated when and where a Red Dead Redemption 3 game could take place, with some saying the prohibition era in the 1920's would be an ideal time period for a RDR3 game. Others in the RDR3 community think that RDR3 should instead be made into a prequel game like RDR2.

However I believe that it would be an amazing idea for RDR3 to take place during 1917. Now I already know what you all are thinking "You want to send Jack Marston to the western front during WW1 and make him fight the Germans right?" however you would not be correct in thinking that, you see my idea of the settings and plot a RDR3 game would be that Jack Marston in 1917 (three years after he kills former FBI agent Edgar Ross) would be drafted to join the US Military and fight in WW1, however Jack would not want to fight for the same government who had a hand in betraying and killing his father so he would dodge the draft and avoid being conscripted and send to the front lines on the western front in WW1. Initially dodging the WW1 draft would be easy for Jack (he is a gunslinger and most likely has survival instincts meaning he can probably live off the grid) , however as more young men get send to the western front in WW1 and as the government begins cracking down on draft dodgers, and making sure that young men are being conscripted for the war effort Jack would find it harder and harder to live in the shadows without being drafted. Jack would run from the law, he would run from town to town and city to city (never staying in one place too long) to avoid being drafted, but eventually he would overstay his welcome in a city and welcome and end up in a gun fight with some local infamous bandits in the city. while Jack would win the gunfight against the bandits, he would be injured and slowly pass out and faint unto onto the ground, he would then be found by US Marshals who were initially hunting down the bandits, only to be surprised to see them all dead with an unconscious and bleeding Jack Marston at the scene armed with a revolver in his hands, Jack would be given medical attention and taken by the US Marshals and local sheriff for integration. Jack would be asked how he got into the shootout with the bandits and how he was able to kill all of the bandits, eventually Jack would be asked his age and he would tell the integrators he was 22 (Jack was 19 years old in 1914 and would be 22 years old in 1917 19 3=22) This would lead to the integrators finding out that Jack was dodging the draft (the US draft age in WW1 was 21 to 31), this would in turn lead to Jack being required to do a hard labor for 1 year. (this was an actual real life punishment that American draft dodgers could receive in the WW1 era) Jack however would escape the labor camp in late 1917 and would go to Mexico to do bounty hunter work and escape from the law. Fast forward 3 years to 1920 Jack would still be in Mexico doing bounty hunter work, WW1 will have ended 2 years ago however Jack is still reluctant to go back to the US considering that he dodged the WW1 draft and escaped from his sentence 1 year of hard labor, he knows that there is a good chance that he is a wanted man in America and if he goes back to the US he would effectively be an outlaw. However Jack Marston is suddenly swayed to go back to the US when he hears that rum running and illegal alcohol distribution is starting to pick up after the ratification and enforcement of eighteenth amendment. Jack begins to believe that if he becomes a rum runner and distributes illegal alcohol he will be able make more money, he also believes that becoming a rum runner will be a safer job than being a bounty hunter in Mexico. With all of this is mind Jack Marston leaves Mexico and goes to a large city in the northeastern United States, (most likely Boston or Philadelphia, although they probably would not be called that in a RDR3 game) after arriving to the city Jack Marston would try and find out about the crime business and the secrets of rum running. Eventually after looking hard enough Jack Marston would find the top crime boss of the city, (who we will call Eric Quigley) this would lead to Jack Marston convincing the crime boss that he should be allowed in his crew after Jack Marston successfully delivers multiple shipments of illegal alcohol for the crime boss.

This is as far as my idea(s) for where and when a Red Dead Redemption 3 game could take place, I don't have much ideas (other than one) for what could/would happen after Jack Marston joins Eric Quigley's (the crime boss) crew. Although one idea that I did have is that Eric Quigley would die/retire after he gets into a shootout with a rival crime syndicate or after he possibly betrayed by Jack Marston. After these two mutually exclusive events Jack Marston would end up taking over his former crime bosses crime network and the game would end with Jack Marston ending up in control of a very powerful crime organization.

P.S

This took me at least an hour to write and right now as I'm posting this it is the middle of the night and I am very tired, so there might be some spelling and grammar errors.

(Don't ask my why I decided to write and post this in the middle of the night)
