I recently started my first playthrough of RDR2 with my boyfriend, and I, of course, got very attached to Arthur's character. I wanted to draw the life our good boah deserved with his love.

Me too :'( I also almost cried when Mary sent Arthur's wedding ring back to him It really is amazing how you can come to love characters just by playing as them and experiencing their lives. Rockstar really blew it out of the water with both Red Dead games.

No one said that RDR2 SHOULD'VE ended this way, you ignorant buffoon. People just enjoy playing as Arthur so much and have bonded with his character as people typically do with characters in a good video game that they acknowledge that maybe, just maybe Arthur didn't deserve to get manipulated into a life of crime which eventually imploded and that maybe he deserved something a little better. But that doesn't mean the ending fucking sucks, idiot. And maybe YOU haven't even played the game, because he has nothing with Mary-Beth. He does, however, love Mary Linton.
