Howdy and yee haw, partners, and welcome to my little guide to the honor system after not finding much definitive advice online!

So we'll start with donating to Dutch's camp: It sucks.

When donating, you can get away with a single donation of $.25, $1, $10 and $19 and get a single honour boost each donation. After that $20 is the cheapest donation you can continuously make without sleeping/doing other stuff and coming back to camp. None of the <$20 donations can be repeated without leaving.

Of course you can howdy your way through Sandy Knees and that will give you an upgrade after 4 howdys but it gets tedious fast. Still better than donating to camp!

So then we have the fishies. We all know that throwing fish back gives honor, but just how much? I set out to find out, starting firmly in the red honor zone (I just love killing/robbing!).

In the beginning, roughly 3-5 fish were needed for a level up in honor, pretty good! But once I reached center of the honor spectrum within 20 minutes it slowed down!

Once you're in the center of the spectrum, it takes 8 fishies exactly to go up a level. If you throw back 8 fishies without leveling, leave the area, camp and sleep for a couple days and then come back. After a rest, it will continue to be exactly 8 fish to level up. Though your first fish upon returning is likely to level you up which restarts the 8-fish counter!

I tested the 8 fish = 1 level 5 times consecutively so I'm pretty convinced it's accurate. My favourite fishing spot is Lake Isabella in the Grizzlies West. I went from the red line to the green in the space of 1 hour, just relaxing and catching fish!

So forget paying Dutch, he don't deserve your moneh! Catch the happy little fishies instead, it's easy work and earns damn good honor! And maybe give some howdys in Sandy Knees while you're on the way to buying those goddamn honor-locked suits!

EDIT TO ADD: I fished using only Cheese as bait, catching Bluegill, Perch and Chain Pickerel. My fastest time to level up was catching 8 fish in 4 minutes! It helps if the fishies spawn close to shoreline because then you can throw a line and have a fish in your hands within 20 seconds! I stick to small bait fish as bigger fish take too long to reel in. Every moment counts when farming!
