I played the RDR2 story again for the first time in a few months, and just like last time, I am fucking speechless, this game, this story, is absolute perfection. The emotional connections made, the turning bad of good and vice versa, the sights, the time absorption, it makes me think that I'm actually in that world, living that life.
The brotherhood between John and Arthur, the sisterly-brotherly bond between Arthur and Sadie, the flashes of the past life Arthur lived/The life he should have lived. The man Arthur thought of as a mentor and a leader, evolving into his truest form slowly, in front of his very eyes. And the familial bond they all shared, when they rescued Jack, those that truly cared about him, went to potentially risk their lives for the boy that they so cherished.
I cried both times, the first time I took john to safety, and now i went back for the money, and both with maximum honour, it's a hell of a ride.
I said this once before and I'll say it again, I really hope there is a 3rd game coming, whether it be the 2nd prequel, explaining the origin of the gang, how each member came to be part of the family, in much more detail than we've been told, or a different perspective entirely, something away from the Van Der Lindes, or whatever else in between, if we could just get one last journey in that world, it would be absolutely amazing to.
I might play the story again and see what happens in low honour, or cruise around RDR2 online, whatever i do, I will carry to my grave, this game goes into the top 10 greatest video games of all time, perhaps top 5.
