Blood VS Plasma. Which is more needed to be donated?

I recently turned 18 and I live in Australia. Ever since a child I wanted to give blood after waiting with my dad to give blood in the lifeblood service center. I wasn't quite clear on weather I can donate both blood and Plasma and what is in higher demand.
