Windowed mode?

Anyone know how to get the windowed mode setting on the cncnet launcher to work?
I checked another forum which suggested downloading the cncnet launcher fixer, and also trying some other program but it doesn’t go windowed. It will change resolution but still stay black around the edges.
(I’m talking about when running the main game on Origin instead of actually using he launcher app, although windowed mode doesn’t work on that app either)
