I work in banking and financial services where hiring has been horrible with no signs of improvement this year. I'm in my early 30s and I'm a financial analyst currently interviewing for Financial Analyst and Credit Analyst roles in New York City. While I have worked in Capital Markets/Banking sector my entire career - I am open to anything just to get back to work.
I finished Graduate School in May 2023, and since earning my masters degree in Finance and passing the Level 1 CFA exam, I have not been able to land a full-time job offer which blows my mind. I'm hoping to connect with other financial analysts and banking professionals in the United States to learn about their job search, and figure out how we can support each other.
What strategies have proven effective for you in securing interviews in the finance sector, particularly in competitive markets like New York City, Boston and SF? Are you aggressively reaching out to hiring managers on LinkedIn?
Can anyone share their experiences with job searching post-graduation in the current economic climate? How long did it take you to land a suitable role, and what factors do you think influenced your job search success? I really feel like I am going crazy and I really need advice. I'm willing to help anyone with resume reviews and even mock interviews if you're interviewing at major banks like JPMorgan, Citi, BofA, Wells Fargo, or an asset manager, as I have extensive experience with these interviews.
Appreciate advice and please DM me! Thank you!
