A long time ago as a joke I changed my name to something more in English/ American sounding and with the same resume I started getting more responses I even got contacted for job site did not technically qualify for. I have a very good job now but I'm casually passively applying to drop just to see what's out there. My resume is amazing and diverse and I have unique experiences that most people probably will never have. But I struggle to get a response from jobs that I feel or made for me. I'm wondering if I should change my name again to something more Americanized to see if I get a response. I was reading a couple of posts within the last year or two on different Reddit pages that said that this is still a problem for some people with ethnic sounding names. How can I still be a problem ?
Will update once I change my name to see the results
