I had a 2nd round interview today for a B2C marketing role. My first round went well, and while I was concerned that my B2B experience wasn’t exactly what they were looking for, the hiring manager assured me that it wasn’t going to be an issue.
Fast forward to today where I am meeting with her boss. We run through my experience and resume and he asks “So all of your experience is B2B, none is B2C?”
I reply with “Yes but I am coming from a similar industry and I like be able to pick up the messaging quickly”.
He says “That’s all I had, thank you for your time.” Then just ends the call. I put my head down and cried.
I want out from my small company and toxic workplace. I want to make more than $20 an hour. I just want something to go right in my pathetic attempt at a marketing career.
