Been looking for a few months and have had a few referrals at some companies and also applying a lot and talking to recruiters on LinkedIn.
Iāve had several interviews come from just applying cold and NONE of the referrals have even taken the first step to phone interview. Just sending me rejection emails.
I know thereās the whole āyour resume needs to match the role blah blah blahā but I find it really interesting that Iām getting interviews from cold applying and recruiters reaching out to me on LinkedIn, but NOTHING from referrals from people that work at the company.
Referrals used to mean something but I guess at this point if itās not the actual hiring manager referring you then it doesnāt matter.
Anyone see something similar?
