I know this is going to sound horrible, but I exaggerated a bit on my resume and said that I worked longer at a couple places than I really did since my employment history was so limited, and I saw that no one would even give me an interview with what would be the actual dates I worked.
I am a very good and professional worker. I passed all three of the interviews with ease even getting compliments from the hiring manager saying that he wants me on his team because of my personality and my drive. But now, they want me to pass a Hire Right employment check. My anxiety is at an all time high and I’m worried that they are going to see that I exaggerated the times worked at my previous places of employment! What do I do??? I really need this job, and I’m really trying to get my life on track. My resume does not do enough to represent who I am and the kind of worker I am. When employers meet me they really enjoy me and know I’m a good worker, but places like this wouldn’t give me a chance with my real resume. I feel horrible and anxious now someone help!!!
