Recently I have begun volunteering at an old folks home playing guitar and singing songs from their adolescence. Most of these people are 80 years old and aren't exactly the most communative group of people. I've been mostly playing music from the 50s and 60s which is when alot of them were teenagers.
Some examples of music I've played:
Beatles: Yesterday, For you Blue, Mother Natures Son, Michelle
Elvis: Jailhouse Rock, Blue Suede Shoes, Love Me Tender, Can't Help Falling in Love
The Ink Spots: Java Jive
Johnny Cash: You are my Sunshine, Grandfather Clock, I Walk the Line
Buddy Holly: Everyday
So I was hoping you good people of r/recordstore could recommend me songs that you think I should play for them. Doesn't matter if it's slow or fast, sad or happy.
Thanks!
