So I have hit a complication: It seems that paypal is now making retailers ship only to the address listed on the paypal account:
" we can only ship to the address supplied on PayPal. We do this as we generate our postage labels through PayPal, also using the address you have supplied on PayPal offers better buyer & seller protection. "
That means that to order a record in the US and ship it to a friend in Boston, I would have to set up a paypal in his name and to do that I would have to set up a bank account in the US, which isn't really feasible.
It means that any 'reciprocal forwarding agreement' (in cases where a retailer only offers paypal payment), the person in the US would have to do the purchasing too, which is obviously a bigger ask.
Any other ideas on this? I can't think I am the only person trying to figure this stuff out. Brexit & EU VAT etc has made record buying internationally much harder.
